Day20: Fifty-three senses

It is well known that we humans have five senses.
According to the book “Reconnecting with nature” by Michael J. Cohen, however, we have fifty-three natural senses.

One of my favourite senses is warmth (sense of temperature). It mainly comes from sunshine.

Another sense that I like is softness (feel, particularly touch on the skin). For example, I feel very soft when standing on the ground, touching a person and laying on a futon.

Also, I can’t live without moving; body movement sensation. One of the reasons why I like the sea is probably its endless motion.

What are your favourite senses? From a perspective of senses, you may realize that we have many natural senses that we are not aware every day, and that we don’t have to or should not depend on only a few well-known senses.

The current world is dominated by many “reasons” and “words.” However, Reason and language account for only 4% of naturals ways of knowing and love nature, life and each other. So, if you encounter such situations that “I don’t have the words to explain my feelings”, you are using another sense than reason and language.
